Lynn,
Once a year at our church, we have a garage sale. There is a local cleaner who makes donations to the church for our sale. Any items not claimed per their policy are donated to us. Perhaps you could contact cleaners in your area to see if they could do the same for BLC.
This same facility offers free cleaning for coats that we collect and donate to a local shelter here. It's a tax deduction for them, and a tremendous blessing for us and for those who need coats.
Maybe a local business could help you in a similar way?

BTW: I'm really proud of the work you're doing and wish I were closer and could help you.

Do you remember when we shared a room and I had plastic crates arranged on their sides for storage of books and things? I only paid a few dollars for them, and now, more than 20 years later, a couple of them are still in the bottom of my kid's closet. I know our Walmart here has some, still for only a few dollars. They're a great size for the little clothes and keep things separate, too.

Alternately, or maybe additionally, do you have a handyman who could shore up the shelves you have? I wish I were closer, I'd head over with some wood, a hammer, and some plastic storage crates!

Oh, and I have used shower curtain rods to add space to closets. I get the kind which adjust to the size of the opening and are held in place by pressure. Baby clothes don't weigh much, so it should hold, as long as you have it between two sturdy surfaces.
